Cristina “CiCi” Benn is a dancer, choreographer, and visionary specializing in dance, creative, and movement direction. She recently graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance with a minor in Performing Arts Management and Entrepreneurship. During her time at the University of Michigan, she holds choreography credits for some of Southeast Michigan’s prominent stages, such as the Michigan Theatre, Power Center for the Performing Arts and Detroit Music Hall Her most notable choreography works include MUSKET’s Once on This Island, Hastings Street, Walk with Amal, Rocky Horror Picture Show, The DR’s Laboratory Community Tour, and her self-produced show, Exalted Existence.

CiCi is a believer in dance as a path to healing, joy, and self-discovery. Her teaching is rooted in the idea that dance—like life—is for everyone. You don’t need a perfect pirouette to belong in the studio. If you’ve ever moved to music in your room, or felt something shift in your spirit while dancing, you’re already a dancer in her book.

I teach styles including hip hop, jazz funk, contemporary, heels, tutting, afro-contemporary, and improv—not just to train bodies, but to free them. My classes are a blend of structure and soul: challenging yet safe, technical yet expressive. I want my students to feel confident, grounded, and reconnected to the “why” behind their movement.

Whether we’re digging into foundation, exploring freestyle, or releasing emotion through choreography, my goal is to create a space where you feel seen, supported, and inspired to live fully—on and off the dance floor.
